Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace and AS Saint-Étienne have reached an agreement for the signing of Matthieu Dreyer. The Alsace-born goalkeeper has signed a one-and-a-half year contract.

Originally from Ernolsheim-sur-Bruche and a supporter of Strasbourg since a young age, the Alsatian completes Patrick Vieira’s squad by bringing his experience to join goalkeepers Alaa Belaarouch and Alexandre Pierre. He is arriving in Alsace with a career of almost 15 years at the highest level. Matthieu Dreyer has played at several clubs (Sochaux, Fréjus, Troyes, Caen, Amiens, Lorient, Saint-Etienne). He has kept 24 clean sheets in 92 league matches (Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 combined).

“We are very happy to welcome Matthieu to Strasbourg, who will bring his experience and maturity to Alaa Belaarouch and Alexandre Pierre. He is a good goalkeeper who knows the region perfectly since he grew up there,” says, Loïc Désiré, the Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace head of recruitment.
