This is going to be one of those days – in fact, it is already.

Chelsea have had some pretty busy and exciting transfer windows of late, but this deadline day promises to be the busiest for a while. With less than 12 hours left, there is still so much business to be done.

Jackson deal remains up in the air as time ticks away

The biggest story of the last few days has been Nicolas Jackson. After a long summer of negotiation, the Blues finally got a deal done with Bayern Munich to sign the striker.

He travelled to Munich on Saturday while Chelsea faced Fulham, showing off a big smile as he prepared for a loan move with an option to buy which would take him to Germany for this season and potentially beyond.

But events at Stamford Bridge changed all that. Just as Jackson was about to take his medical, Liam Delap limped off for Chelsea with a hamstring injury – one that is potentially quite bad, by all accounts. Realising he would be ruled out for some time, the Blues decided to cancel Jackson’s loan.

That didn’t go down well with the Senegal star – he’s stayed put in Germany to try and keep the move alive, and it seems that, improbably, he may have managed it.

Jackson move is somehow still on

Florian Plettenberg says Nicolas Jackson talks are back on.

Florian Plettenberg is claiming that the Jackson deal has been revived.

Chelsea are going to be able to recall Marc Guiu from his loan at Sunderland to cover for Delap, meaning that they can (just about) afford to let Jackson go. We fear it’s the juicy terms of the deal with Bayern that’s been arranged that is really what’s tempting them to revive this deal, however, rather than any desire to help out Jackson or the German giants.

This is all building to an exciting climax.
