Fulham have revived their interest in signing Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling with a late loan approach expected.
Sterling is surplus to requirements at Chelsea after returning from a loan spell at Arsenal last season. The 30-year-old struggled to make an impact at the Emirates with Arsenal opting against pursuing a permanent move.
Sterling has been assessing his options this summer with no route back into the first-team picture at Chelsea.
The player’s preference is understood to be to remain in London, where his young family is settled, despite interest from Europe.
Fulham and West Ham have been linked and the former are preparing a proposal before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Sterling is an option Fulham are considering, despite an imminent £34.6m move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin. A deal for AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is also being explored as Fulham look to bolster their wide options.
