With Miller arriving, the Terriers have confirmed that now former assistant coach Paul Harsley has departed his role.

Offering an insight into the reasoning behind the decision, Huddersfield boss Mark Fotheringham explained that he knows Miller well and believes he fits within the ethos of the club.

“We spent two-and-a-half years together on the UEFA Pro License course and it became immediately clear that it was his work ethic that made him such a success as a player, and as a coach.” Fotheringham said as part of the club’s statement.

“Kenny has a winning mentality, which comes from living and breathing football at the highest level.

“It’s great to have him here in the building, and for our players to benefit from the knowledge and expertise he can offer.

“Not only is he a top coach, but he’s also a fantastic family man. I think that fits the ethos of the Club perfectly.”

Fotheringham will hope that the introduction of Miller can help the club’s fortunes on the pitch.

Huddersfield Town currently sit bottom of the Championship.

The Verdict

This is an interesting move from Huddersfield Town.

Fotheringham obviously knows Miller very well and so you have every confidence in this move working out and having a positive effect at the club.

It isn’t like Miller comes with no experience of coaching roles either.

He has worked in Australia as well as in Scotland as an assistant previously, and given he also holds a UEFA Pro License, he is clearly a top coach.

With the Terriers having a difficult season so far, the hope will be that Miller’s arrival can have a positive impact both on and off the pitch at the John Smith’s Stadium.
