Liverpool will travel to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Reds are top of the table, seven points clear of Arsenal and Chelsea, and they will be hungry to pick up all three points, especially after what happened in midweek.
Liverpool conceded a late goal at St James’ Park and were held to a 3-3 draw by Newcastle United.
Arne Slot’s men have lost only once in all competitions this season, but with injury mounting, the Merseyside derby clash could get very interesting, especially when it is the last time the two teams will face each other in the league at this iconic venue.
Slot has confirmed that Alisson is not fully fit yet, which means Caoimhin Kelleher will continue in goal.
The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper made a poor mistake in the last game against the Magpies, but the Liverpool boss has full faith in him.
In defence, Kostas Tsimikas and Ibrahima Konate are still out injured. Slot will most probably start with Joe Gomez alongside Virgil van Dijk at the back, although he praised Jarrell Quansah and described him as a player similar to Ben White.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will return to the side at right-back while Andy Robertson keeps his place.
In midfield, Alexis MacAllister will be missing this game due to suspension. Slot admitted that Ryan Gravenberch will start against Everton even though he would love to give rest to the Dutch midfielder.
Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai should be the other two midfielders operating alongside Gravenberch.
In the forward areas, Slot must drop Darwin Nunez after yet another frustrating performance in the midweek. The 25-year-old could eventually lose his place when Diogo Jota returns to the side, but for this game, too, he must make way for Luis Diaz.
Mohamed Salah is scoring goals for fun this season, and he is undroppable. Cody Gakpo should retain his place, but whether he will start as a number nine or out wide remains to be seen.
Predicted Liverpool starting XI v Everton: Kelleher; Gomez, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones, Szoboszlai; Gakpo, Diaz, Salah.
