Arsenal come knocking to Barcelona for Versatile defender – report | OneFootball

Having to weigh the pros and cons of every decision is integral for FC Barcelona nowadays. Every positive decision that the Catalan club ends up making needs a sacrifice of an equal level. Beyond the levers they pulled almost two years ago, Barcelona must now play with even bigger dangers.

These dangers involve the sale of players, and perhaps even key stars, to generate the required revenue to recruit their desired targets. Unfortunately for Barcelona, either due to the player’s personal conflicts or them simply being too integral sportingly, it is proving to be difficult to let go of their biggest stars.

However, it is not at all a bad occurrence if another club comes knocking for a certain player. At this given point in time, there are reportedly only a handful of players who are considered completely non-transferable. Others, such as Jules Kounde, are still open for discussion if the right offer arrives.

That just so happens to be the case in the Frenchman’s situation. According to SPORT, Premier League side Arsenal has recently contacted FC Barcelona to inquire about Jules Kounde as they are interested in signing the versatile 25-year-old French defender.

Kounde, despite starting the season on a low note, has not only improved but cemented himself as a key player for Barcelona. Furthermore, despite the rumors previously suggesting that the player wanted to only play as a center-back, it seems that he has accepted his fate of playing as a right-back and is focusing on improving that part of his overall game.

This has also translated well towards the French National team, where he is now a guaranteed starter at the right flank of the defense. Perhaps if he had stuck to wanting to be a central defender exclusively, the Barcelona defender may not have been getting starting minutes in the French National Team.

For now, it seems that the player is not too interested in leaving. However, only time will tell how this rumor develops, and if any development can end up changing Kounde’s mind while also enticing Barcelona enough to let go of one of their most consistent performers in the team.
