Real Madrid ‘worried’ about injured star’s slow recovery progress

The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are growing increasingly concerned by the progress, or rather lack thereof, of a key member of the club’s backline in his efforts to return to the pitch.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards David Alaba as the player in question?

Stopper Alaba, for his part, has of course been confined to the sidelines since December of last year.

As much comes after the Austrian international became the third member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in the space of mere months to suffer a torn ACL.

Alaba, in turn, went under the knife to repair the problem, with the aim of linking back up with his teammates in Madrid early next season.

If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, however, then, in fact, as much is beginning to look not only unlikely, but all but out of the question.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘Alaba and his entourage have set a date for his return to competition in October, with the possibility of playing 90 minutes at a good pace.’

Real Madrid, however, see the situation altogether differently.

The medical staff at Valdebebas view ‘his recovery as a cause for concern’, with the 32-year-old yet to even step foot on the grass as of yet.

‘They do not believe that he will be back in October, and they prefer not to set a date for his return,’ it is therefore concluded.
