Wycombe Wanderers are hoping to complete the signing of defender Connor Taylor from Bristol Rovers.

The 23-year-old had been the subject of interest from Peterborough United this summer, who had bids rejected for the youngster.

Taylor was left out of the Rovers squad for their League Two opener against Harrogate Town on Saturday, with boss Darrell Clarke revealing after the game that it was because Taylor had asked to leave the club.

And he now looks set to complete a move to League One Wycombe.

Taylor was named Bristol Rovers’ player of the season for the last campaign, making 48 appearances in all competitions for the Gas, who were relegated to League Two last term.

He signed for Bristol Rovers on a permanent deal in 2023 from Stoke City, having spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Rovers, playing a key role as they were promoted from League Two before returning to parent club Stoke for a season, where he played 14 times in the Championship.
