Luton Town, Reading FC, and Wycombe Wanderers are all interested in signing Ronan Hale from Ross County.
League One trio Luton Town, Reading, and Wycombe Wanderers are all reportedly interested in signing Ross County striker Ronan Hale this summer.
The 26-year-old enjoyed an excellent campaign for the Scottish club in the Premiership last season, scoring 15 goals in 38 outings, as the Staggies were relegated to the Scottish Championship.
Following relegation, the Northern Irishman has become the subject of interest from the EFL, and would reportedly be keen on a move away from Dingwall this summer, as he has ambitions of playing at the World Cup next year.
The latest reports from the Belfast Telegraph on Sunday morning have revealed that Luton, Reading, and Wycombe are all interested in signing Hale, with the Royals said to be weighing up a bid.
League One is arguably set to be the most intriguing league in England this season, and after Saturday's opening day fixtures, we have a vague idea of who the teams to beat will be, and who needs to improve.
Luton started off their season with a narrow victory on Friday, whilst Reading and Wycombe fell to defeat on the road on Saturday. However, these three clubs are all reportedly still looking to strengthen their front line.
The Belfast Telegraph revealed on Sunday morning that the League One trio were all holding an interest in Ross County striker Hale, who is looking for a move away from the Scottish Championship side following their relegation.
The report suggests that the Royals are weighing up a bid for the 26-year-old, who has already scored four goals in all competitions this season, with the Hatters and the Chairboys lurking.
This could reportedly see a 'bidding war' for Hale unfold, with the player himself said to be keen on a move to a higher level, as he wants to keep his international dream alive.
Some unnamed Scottish Premiership teams have reportedly been monitoring the situation unfolding with the Staggies star, but the League One trio are said to be leading the race for his services.
With the battle for Hale's services shaping up, it will seemingly be a race between the three League One clubs to see who can bring the striker in this summer.
Luton have already been busy with additions to their front line, having signed Nahki Wells, Jerry Yates, and are strongly linked with a move for Colchester United's Samson Tovide.
Reading now have money to spend after Harvey Knibbs completed a £1.8m move to Charlton Athletic. The club is in need of a new striker, after Jayden Wareham departed for Exeter City, and Hale could be an excellent option, who comes with a good track record.
As for Wycombe, they've added Bradley Fink to their attacking arsenal, but have seen plenty of interest in Richard Kone in recent days. If the Ivorian leaves, a replacement could be needed, and Hale would be a great shout for the Chairboys, who will receive a tidy fee for Kone.
With that in mind, it seems the battle is more likely to be between the Royals and their Buckinghamshire rivals. Right now, Reading are the only team that really need a striker, and have money to spend after Knibbs' sale last week.
However, if the situation at Adams Park changes regarding Kone, the Northern Irishman could also be the subject of bids from Wycombe, which could start the aforementioned bidding war.
