Brendan Rodgers has weighed into the debate surrounding the Dundee pitch fiasco and has admitted that it’s “not a great look” for the game in Scotland. The Celtic boss was asked about the issue that has occurred lately which has caused some chaos in rearranging the fixture to suit certain clubs, as opposed to playing it on the first available date.

Philippe Clement and his 2012 founded employers have been up in arms about the fact that Dundee have been unable to fulfil their duty and responsibly to the League by allowing the game to be postponed for a second time.

Undoubtedly, it is a terrible look for everyone involved and there is no denying that the Tayside club should have a better grip on things than that, as amateur teams manage to somehow make their parks playable – even in inclement weather.

However, despite the bombast and faux-outrage from the Govan side in a statement post-cancellation for the second time, a suitable date could have been pencilled in the week leading up to the Glasgow Derby match. Yet again though, that wasn’t deemed appropriate by the newest Ibrox outfit and they wanted to make sure that there was no new injuries or fatigue the weekend of our clash.

So instead, the authorities bowed to their will and they got what they wanted. Now we find ourselves in the situation of not having all the games played before the Scottish Premiership league-split. Rodgers was quizzed on this and confirmed he is surprised that this has been allowed to unfold, questioning the lack of professionalism from everyone involved in the process.
