In a historic move, Celtic FC is furthering its commitment to inclusivity by continuing our audio descriptive commentary service, setting a new standard for accessibility in Scottish women's football.

The club is pleased to offer audio descriptive commentary for our match against Glasgow City tonight, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie.

This service will be provided by commentators, Katie Shannon and Callum McFadden.

Visually impaired supporters in need of this service are encouraged to reach out via email to dao@celticfc.co.uk.

This pioneering step reflects the club’s commitment to ensuring that every supporter, regardless of visual impairment, can enjoy the beautiful game.

One individual whose story embodies the spirit of accessibility in football is Jon Attenborough, a devoted Dundee United supporter and guide-dog owner.

Together, Jon and his trusty loyal companion, Sam, a yellow Labrador retriever cross, are on a mission to visit all 42 Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) grounds by the end of next season.

As part of this journey, the duo will take in our home fixture against Glasgow City tonight.

“This is a service that is starting to gain traction among clubs in the men’s game," said Jon, "and Celtic have continuously offered this as a regular service at women’s games too.

"I hope this will encourage more blind/partially sighted supporters to come along to the women’s games and support women’s football."

By sharing his experience at Scottish football grounds, Jon aims to inspire other disabled supporters to embrace their love for football and attend matches at their local clubs.

We look forward to welcoming Jon, Sam, and all fans to the Excelsior Stadium tonight to support the Ghirls in this crucial fixture for the title run-in.
