Steven Gerrard isn’t interested in Rangers players

When Steven Gerrard left Rangers for Aston Villa, all we heard was how Rangers’ prize assets Glen Kamara, Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent, to name but four, were all going to be going with him.

That the man would be screwing us for every top player we had and we’d lose half the team to Birmingham.

As it turns out, the only player Gerrard has had any interest in at all was young Rory Wilson who Villa’s youth academy were actually the ones seeking, not Gerrard. The striker moved to Villa Park and that was that.

But the rest?

Not a soul.

Not an iota of interest from Gerrard in any of Rangers’ assets, and that now seems to include Calvin Bassey.

A regular on Ibrox Noise’s Facebook page pointed out to us that over in the east, it was exactly the same – when Rodgers left for Leicester, every single asset player at Parkhead was linked to a move to the King Power. To this day, he never signed a soul from there.

Now, are these former Old Firm managers being careful not to make enemies at their former clubs by signing their best players?

Let’s not give them that much credit of decency.

Steven Gerrard’s loyalties, until the day he stabs them in the back, are with Aston Villa, and he couldn’t care less who he tramples over in order to strengthen them.

He’d say all is fair in love, war, and football, and let’s face it, he’d be right.

But the reality is Villa haven’t bid on a single Rangers player worth mentioning, and we doubt they will.

Gerrard isn’t interested in us, and that’s absolutely fine by us.
