Stade de Reims will be gearing up for a new unprecedented trip abroad as the Champagne region club announces a pre-season tour in Japan for Summer 2024. The first international event of its kind for the club, it will allow Reims and Les Rouges et Blancs' two Japan internationals an opportunity to meet a growing Japanese community surrounding the team and Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

"It is a great honour and a source of pride for Stade de Reims to travel to Japan as part of this summer tour," said managing director of Reims Mathieu Lacour on the newly announced Summer trip to the Land of the Rising Sun. "This is a new stage in the Club's development, which once again demonstrates its broad appeal. This major event demonstrates the strong attachment to this new community created around the SDR and our commitment to strengthening the ties that bind us to it from now on."

Reims connecting with growing Japanese fanbase

The trip has been organised in tandem with strategic sponsor Yasuda Group, who's CEO Keisuke Yasuda was also quoted in the official communiqué. "This unprecedented opportunity demonstrates our commitment to developing Stade de Reims' presence in the Japanese market and building links with fans across the country."

Stade de Reims is the first club to feature two Japanese players in Ligue 1 Uber Eats: Junya Ito, and Keito Nakamura. The pairing have both represented Japan's national team at the AFC Asia Cup, and have a combined seven goals and eight assists together for Reims this season.
