Southampton defender Bednarek coy on plans to stop Man Utd star Fernandes | OneFootball

Southampton defender Jan Bednarek is coy about having a plan to stop Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The two teams meet on Sunday.

We just have to do our jobs," Bednarek told HampshireLive when asked for his plan to prevent Fernandes being handed a chance to score from the spot.

"Let's hope we won't make any penalties for them. That is part of football.

"Maybe they are clever to do it but if we play our way then we can hope that we won't cause any penalties."

He continued: "I watched their first half [against Istanbul] and they were really good, I was impressed with their game and they played really quick, they were really committed without the ball.

"They will be really, really difficult to play against but we are happy. We know that we will cause them many problems and they will see how difficult it is to play against us."
