AFC Wimbledon have agreed a deal to sign Sutton United’s Aaron Pierre ahead of tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline, sources have confirmed to Football League World this afternoon.

The January transfer window’s 11pm deadline is fast approaching now, with Wimbledon moving to bolster Johnnie Jackson’s defensive options.

Sources have revealed to Football League World that Wimbledon have agreed a deal to sign Pierre on loan from League Two rivals, Sutton.

Pierre, 29, has made only three appearances for Sutton having arrived at the club in the summer, failing to start a League Two fixture as Matt Gray’s side continue to punch above their weight, sitting 11th at the time of writing.

However, the defender has a plethora of EFL experience, having played over 300 games for Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers, Northampton Town and Shrewsbury Town prior to linking up with Sutton.

A move to Wimbledon would see Pierre sign up with his sixth professional club. Jackson’s side are currently 10th in the League Two table, having amassed the same number of points as Sutton albeit from a game fewer.
