Speaking after a last-minute Jens Cajuste goal sealed three points for his Reims side against Ajaccio, Will Still believes that the team can continue to aim high, even if he indicates he is not paying attention to the league table for the time being.

With a win over the Corsicans, the Anglo-Belgian coach extended his unbeaten run in the league since taking over in October to 16 games, with eight wins and eight draws over that period.

The run has seen Reims move up to eighth place in the league – asked whether his players can start aiming for a top five finish, the 30-year-old told the media, as reported by L’Équipe, that they would continue to aim high: “Top 5? That’s some challenge, but we shouldn’t set ourselves limits. Either way, I’m not looking at the table, I don’t even know where we are.”

The Champagne outfit will be put to the test over the next two weeks, as they face a trip to Monaco before hosting Marseille. Earlier this season, while still under Óscar García’s reign, Reims lost 3-0 and 4-1 to the two Champions League challengers respectively – get through the two return games, and a top five finish could well be coming into view.
