Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares is expected to undergo medical tests with Lazio this weekend after the Bianconcelesti reached a full agreement with the Gunners and the player’s entourage.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Lazio have reached a full agreement with Nuno Tavares’ agents.

The Italian transfer expert says on X, formerly Twitter, that the versatile full-back has agreed to sign a five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

The two clubs are exchanging documents, and the 24-year-old is expected to undergo medical checks in the capital this weekend.

Tavares will formally join Lazio on loan, but the deal includes an obligation to buy, so the final cost of the package is around €9m. Arsenal also have a sell-on clause.

Lazio director Angelo Fabiani revealed a few days ago that the club had an agreement in place with Arsenal and that he was confident the Portuguese would join the club.

Nuno Tavares returned to Arsenal after a one-year loan at Nottingham Forest where he made 12 appearances across all competitions.
