Haaland struck twice inside the first five minutes as City raced into a two-goal lead and it stayed that way until half-time.

Oscar Bobb put Pep Guardiola’s side 3-0 up after the break, before Haaland completed his hat-trick in the 56th minute.

Chelsea managed to pull two goals back after that, with substitutes Noni Madueke and Raheem Sterling finding the net.

City were worthy 4-2 winners, though, as they profited from some poor defending by Chelsea.

The Blues gifted City the lead when Levi Colwill brought down Haaland in the box after they failed to play out from the back.

Haaland slotted the penalty and seconds later he had a second. This time, Moises Caicedo played a sloppy pass and the City striker latched onto it to double his side’s lead.

Chelsea gave the ball away for Bobb’s goal, too. Sterling gave it to James McAtee and his driving run resulted in Bobb finishing cooly inside the box.

A minute later, Haaland had his hat-trick after Grealish teed him up, with Chelsea once again guilty of losing the ball cheaply.

The Blues did, however, manage to rally late on and score two well-taken goals. Sterling lashed home a volley from Madueke’s cross, before the latter went from provider to score.

Romeo Lavia played a great pass from deep that Madueke latched onto and the winger scored with a cool finish right at the end of the game.
