According to Florian Plettenberg, Napoli are in talks to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe.

It had previously been reported that the 23-year-old was linked with a move away from the Deutsche Bank Park before the end of the transfer window.

However, Everton, who were the interested party, have since stepped away from the deal for the Frenchman.

Nevertheless, it is now understood that Napoli have stated their intent on luring Ebimbe to Serie A and have begun negotiations with Die Adler regarding his services.

Despite this, both sides are yet to reach an agreement, with a number of other European sides monitoring the situation.

As stated in the report, at this stage of the window, Frankfurt are only interested in permanently offloading the 23-year-old, meaning a loan move for the midfielder is not a possibility.

Last season, Ebimbe featured 44 times for Die Adler, scoring ten goals and registering five assists during his second season in Germany.
