Marseille confirm agreement to sign Angel Gomes

Marseille are set to complete the signing of Lille midfielder Angel Gomes.

The England international has made over 100 appearances during a five-year spell at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy after arriving from Manchester United in summer 2020.

But Gomes is set to become a free agent at the end of June, opening the door for a move to Roberto De Zerbi's side ahead of their Champions League involvement.

Les Phocéens confirmed on Wednesday that they have struck a deal in principle for the 24-year-old to move across Ligue 1 when his current deal at Lille expires.
