With less than ten days remaining within the transfer market, Napoli are attempting to move quickly in order to reinforce the back-line as the Partenopei have identified RB Leipzig central defender Mohamed Simakan as an ideal target.

Il Mattino reportsvia TuttoMercatoWeb, that the club is eager to bolster the back-line prior to the transfer window closing as they feel that the acquisition of 22 year-old  Natan Souza from Brazilian outfits Red Bull Bragantino is not sufficient to compete for the scudetto and progress far within the Champions League following the departure of star-defender Kim Min Jae to Bayern Munich.

As a result, Garcia’s side have turned to the 23 year-old Frenchman, whom has featured in 53 matches across all competitions for the Bundesliga side since arriving from Strasbourg two years ago.

With the purchase of Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga currently on stand-by, it is very much possible that Napoli could be willing to shift their attention on Simakan heading into the latter stages of the transfer window.
