Lionel Messi will miss Wednesday night’s derby clash with Orlando City because of a knee injury.
The news was first reported in the Athletic and is now confirmed as Inter Miami prepares for tonight’s match.

The story indicated that the Ballon d’Or winner will sit out the game as a precautionary measure having come under some heavy tackles during their win at Montreal last time out.
Messi has been in scintillating form so far this term, scoring 10 and assisting nine in his nine MLS appearances.
But he misses the trip north to Orlando with Gerardo Martino’s men currently top of the Eastern Conference by three points.
Inter Miami subsequently deployed Robert Taylor in attack alongside Luis Suarez and Matias Rojas.
