A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Thursday been tipped to link up with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
The player in question? Nacho.
The name of stopper Nacho has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Madrid over the course of the last 24 hours.
This comes after word was forthcoming in the media that the 34-year-old is giving fresh consideration to staying put for next season.
Nacho’s current terms are due to expire in the summer, with it having long been reported that he will therefore be on the move ahead of 2024/25.
Marca, however, challenged as much on Wednesday, in suggesting that Nacho was giving fresh consideration to putting pen to paper on a one-year contract extension.
In turn, just a day later, it has come as something of a surprise to see it assured once again that, in fact, the Spanish international’s mind is made up.
As per a report from Relevo:
‘Nacho has not yet officially communicated anything about his future, although his decision, made weeks ago, is to close his time at Real Madrid.’
The veteran defender’s plan is to seek out a move to Major League Soccer, in the United States.
And one such club have begun expressing a keen interest in making Nacho’s dream a reality.
According to Relevo, Inter Miami are ‘very interested’ in adding Real Madrid’s captain to their defensive ranks, boasting the financial space to fit him in, too.
Any such move would of course see Nacho unite with a host of La Liga greats, in the form of former Barcelona quartet Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.
