Having finished 4th in the second tier last season, making the promotion play-offs, Jacobacci’s Grenoble have fallen to 15th this season and are currently just two points off the bottom three.
Grenoble have suffered four losses in a row including a 4-1 battering by mid-table Amiens at the weekend and an embarrassing defeat to fourth-tier Andrézieux in the Coupe de France at the end of last month.
Jacobacci’s assistant Frédéric Gueguen will take over the coaching of the first team until a new manager is found with former Le Havre and Amiens coach Oswald Tanchot an early front runner to replace the 58-year-old Swiss who took over from Philippe Hinschberger in the summer.
