So far, Williamson has helped the club win the 2019 WSL title, two Continental Cups, and two FA Cups. She has notched an impressive 65 appearances for Arsenal has scored ten goals.

The versatile centre-back is a crucial part of Arsenal’s playing style and fans have been waiting eagerly for her to pen a new deal.

“I’ve signed because I’ve always said that this is my club,” she told Arsenal.com. “I say it’s a fairytale that I’m still here. I have won trophies and we’ve continued to compete for trophies – that’s really important to me and I think that I owe the club as well for everything they’ve given to me, and it’s time for me to give back to them.”

“I’ve got everything I want in my world, everything that is important to me because genuinely Arsenal is up there in the most important things in my life, of course it is. It’s such a big part of my family and I’ve got all of those things all together, which just makes it, you know? It makes me happy, it always has done.

Williamson went on to say she felt loved by the fans through the contract process as she explained has felt “appreciated” by the support.

“I captained the team once last season, and I was crying at the end because it’s emotional for me. I get embarrassed sometimes because I’m not sure in the women’s game that there is that much love for clubs as there is in the men’s, but that’s how I feel about Arsenal.

“I’ve never been shy in saying that my aim is to be the best centre back in the world.”

Arsenal have not disclosed the length of Williamson’s new deal.
