Drama in Ligue 2 football is truly undefeated. Le Havre were seconds away from celebrating their Ligue 2 title and their promotion to Ligue 1 until the unexpected happened. With Le Havre 1-0 up deep in injury time and on course to start a party of all ages, the home fans entered the pitch in their hundreds before referee Romain Lissorgue had whistled for the end of the game. Slovenian Le Havre manager Luka Elsner erupted in fury against his own fans, asking them to return to the stands.

The game was logically interrupted with players and referee rushing to their dressing rooms. Eventually, the game was suspended for just 15 to 20 minutes. The game resumed for mere seconds and Lissorgue instantly ended proceedings. However, the Dijon players, who are relegated in National 1 should the result stand, did not return to the pitch for the restart of the game. It remains to be seen whether the Bourgogne side will challenge the final result and in an attempt to delay their relegation but claiming that they should be awarded a 3-0 victory by default over Le Havre owing to their latter team’s fans invading the pitch prematurely.
