Sevilla were left furious at the circumstances of their 3-2 defeat to Villarreal on Saturday. Alexander Sorloth scored the winning goal for the home side in the 97th minute, but despite claims that Kike Salas had been fouled by the Norwegian, it was allowed to stand, which led to heated scenes at the full time whistle.

After the match, Youssef En-Nesyri – who scored both of Sevilla’s goals at the Ceramica, accused Miguel Angel Ortiz Arias of bias, in regards to his overall handling of proceedings. These comments could land him in very hot water with the Spanish Football Federation’s Competition Committee.

As per Diario AS, if the matter is refereed to the Committee, En-Nesyri could be banned for four matches, as this has been the precedent set in the past for the likes of David Lopez, Jose Gaya and Sergio Canales. If that punishment was received, his season would be over with three matches still to go.

It’s worth noting that En-Nesyri has been heavily linked with a move away from Sevilla in the summer, with Los Nervionenses possibly set to cash in on the Moroccan striker with one year remaining on his contract. If he’s banned, it could mean that he’s played his final match for the club.
