Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubtful for Napoli’s Salernitana clash | OneFootball

Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is currently a doubt for the side’s upcoming Serie A clash against Salernitana.

The Georgian was missing from Napoli’s Coppa Italia clash against Cremonese, who ousted the Partenopei on penalties and Stanislav Lobotka missed a penalty in the shootouts. Kvaratskhelia was said to be ill and that was the reason for his absence.

Il Mattino have reported that Kvaratskhelia is a big doubt for the game against the Salerno-based outfit. His conditions will be assessed soon following his flu attack. He did train in the gym recently but never went beyond that and Napoli are not taking the risk of getting him to return to full contact training.

The after-effects of the flu is expected to take some time to go away. He is still tired and feels those after-effects, with Eljif Elmas expected to feature against Salernitana in his place, for now. As for the cup knockout, Napoli are not too concerned about the defeat.
