Italian giants Napoli have set their sights on a headline member of the attacking ranks at Girona as a leading summer target.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Il Mattino, who point towards Artem Dovbyk as having made his way firmly onto the radar of the Partenopei.
Napoli, for their part, are widely expected to bid farewell to the club’s star performer this summer.
As much comes with Paris Saint-Germain having identified Victor Osimhen as their priority target with a view to next season.
Amid what has proven a turbulent season for the Nigerian and Napoli alike, the widespread assumption is that a deal with PSG, when all is said and done, will be struck.
This, in turn, would leave a sizable hole to fill at the forefront of the attacking ranks at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
And the Partenopei brass, it is understood, have already turned their gaze towards Spain, in search of a replacement.
As per the aforementioned MD, Girona standout Artem Dovbyk is drawing admiring glances from Naples, ahead of the summer.
Ukrainian international Dovbyk, for his part, currently stands as La Liga’s top scorer in 2023/24, with 18 goals to his name.
With Napoli expected to raise a sum in excess of €100 million through Osimhen’s sale, it is in turn suggested that a chunk of this fee could be put towards an offer to bring Girona’s prolific hitman to Serie A.
