Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti declares Valentin Carboni will join the club’s pre-season preparations for next season once he returns from Copa America.

The 19-year-old has been developing his game at Appiano Gentile since making the move from Catania in 2020.

The attacking midfielder swiftly established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in the club’s youth sector.

Last season, the Argentinian spent his campaign on loan at Monza. His performances under Raffaele Palladino were impressive enough to warrant a call-up for the Albiceleste who are currently defending their continental throne.

However, news sources in the Italian media have been linking Carboni with the exit door, claiming Inter will be looking to sell him to raise transfer funds.

Nevertheless, Zanetti insists his compatriot will be part of the club’s pre-season.

The vice-captain expects the teenager to join Simone Inzaghi’s ranks once Argentina’s Copa America campaign comes to an end.

“After the Copa America, Valentin Carboni will return to Inter,” declared the iconic Nerazzurri captain in his interview with TYC Sports via FcInterNews.

“This international commitment will make him improve a lot. We are talking about a young player with a great future ahead of him.

“He has an impressive talent. Every time he touches the ball, you know something good is about to happen.

“Valentin is very young. He has a great future and we hope that, with us, his growth process will be complete.”

The Buenos Aires native has a contract with the Nerazzurri valid until June 2028.

This season, he scored two goals and provided his Monza teammates with four assists.
