Hammers can hand a debut to one of their summer signings at the City Ground
West Ham face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this afternoon as Graham Potter looks for a change of luck.
The Hammers have made a disastrous start to the season. Two games played in the league, two defeats, eight goals conceded, one goal scored and they began the weekend bottom of the table.
There appeared to be some light at the end of the tunnel in midweek as Potter’s side led against Wolves with 10 minutes to go but conceded twice in quick succession to crash out of the Carabao Cup.
Reinforcements have since arrived in the form of Mateus Fernandes and Soungoutou Magassa, though only the former is eligible to make his debut at the City Ground.
As for Forest - who discovered their opponents for the league phase of the Europa League on Friday - they have made a solid start to the season, beating Brentford 3-0 on the opening weekend before following that up with a draw away at Crystal Palace.
Both meetings last season went the way of Forest and worryingly for West Ham they have failed to score on each of their last four trips to the City Ground.
