Stoke City have confirmed that Ryan Woods has left the club to sign for Birmingham City on a three-year deal with the Blues.
Woods signed for the Potters back in 2019, and went on to make 39 appearances in total for Stoke City, across a two-year spell with the club.
But the midfielder has found regular game time hard to come by with Stoke in recent seasons, with the 27-year-old spending the 2020/21 campaign out on loan with fellow Championship side, Millwall.
Woods caught the eye with a number of strong performances for the Lions, as they finished 11th in the second tier standings under the management of Gary Rowett.
Birmingham City have won the race to land Woods’ signature though, as the Blues look to add much-needed strength in depth to their midfield options.
It was a frustrating league campaign for the Blues last term, as they finished 18th in the Championship table.
Plenty of Stoke City supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on Woods’ departure being confirmed, with a number of them being disappointed to see him head for the exit door.
