It’s been a treacherous two-year spell at Real Sociedad for Umar Sadiq, who has struggled for prominence during his time in Donostia-San Sebastian. He tore his ACL soon after arriving from Almeria, but he’s still barely playing after his recovery.
As such, a move away during the upcoming summer transfer window does appear to be very likely. La Real may look to sell multiple forwards, and Sadiq is a strong candidate. The good news for the Nigerian international is that Getafe are showing interest, as reported by Angel Garcia (via MD).
Getafe are considering a loan move for Sadiq, and he’s considered to be a priority target for Jose Bordalas’ side, who lost Enes Unal during the winter, as he joined Andoni Iraola at Premier League club AFC Bournemouth.
This could be a deal that suits all parties, although Real Sociedad would surely prefer a permanent transfer. It remains to be seen how it all plays out in the coming weeks and months.
