L’Équipe are reporting that former AS Monaco centre-back Almamy Touré (27) is set to join Bundesliga 2 side Kaiserslautern after his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt expired.

Malian international Touré has been a free agent since his contract at Bundesliga side Frankfurt expired at the end of last season. He joined the German club from Monaco back in January 2019 and went on to make 81 appearances over the course of a five-year spell. Prior to that, he came through the ranks at the Principality club before making 80 appearances for the first team, scoring an impressive six goals and netting 13 assists in that time.

However, Touré played a peripheral role at Frankfurt last season, making just nine appearances in all competitions, including seven in the Bundesliga. As a result, his contract was not extended and he left the club at the end of the season.

The versatile defender, who is also capable of playing at right-back, is now set for his next adventure. According to L’Équipe, he is set to sign for Kaiserslautern in the German second division.
