That is according to Football Insider, who report that the 21-year-old has signed an agreement with the R’s until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The midfielder is a free agent having seen his Liverpool contract expire earlier this summer.

That ended a seven year association with the Merseyside club, with Dixon-Bonner having joined them back in 2015 after exiting Arsenal.

In recent weeks, the 21-year-old was reported to be training with QPR, and it appears he has impressed the coaching staff at Loftus Road enough to earn himself a deal until the end of the season.

Dixon-Bonner joins the R’s having only played three games of senior football, all coming at his previous club Liverpool.

His first team debut for Jurgen Klopp’s side came in the FA Cup back in 2019/20, making a very brief cameo in the club’s win over Shrewsbury in the fourth round of the competition.

He would also feature against Shrewsbury in the same competition earlier this year, this time playing 64 minutes of action as a starter.

Quiz: Did QPR win, draw or lose the last time they played at these 18 stadiums?

Hillsborough?

Win Draw Lose

His only other appearance for Liverpool came against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup, again as a very brief substitute.

The Verdict

It’s really good to see Elijah Dixon-Bonner land on his feet after departing Liverpool.

When leaving a big club having been on the books there for so long, it can’t be easy, and there must be fears about how far down the pyramid you are going to have to drop.

QPR are a great Championship club though and the fact that Dixon-Bonner has gone in, trained, impressed and earnt the contract given to him speaks volumes.

It’s going to be really exciting to see how he gets on for the remainder of the year under Michael Beale, and whether or not come the end of the season, he can earn a stay beyond next summer.
