Erling Haaland brushed off any concerns about Borussia Dortmund’s pre-season defeat to Athletic Club on Saturday.
The Spanish side got the better of their Bundesliga opponents in a game played in St Gallen, Switzerland.
In addition to the result, BVB also had the disappointment of seeing Marius Wolf, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Mahmoud Dahoud and Giovanni Reyna all pick up injuries.
Despite the setbacks, Haaland was happy to get back into the swing of things with the defending DFB Pokal champions.
“It’s good to be back and to play my first game of pre-season,” the striker said, per the official club website.
“The result obviously wasn’t good, but that’s not what it’s about. It goes without saying that we want to win, but getting to run and play with the team and work on certain situations is good.
“The season starts in two weeks, and we’re going to be well prepared for it.”
Norway international Haaland has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, but his comments would suggest he sees himself staying with Die Schwarzgelben for the upcoming season.
