=4. Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, Alexander Isak, Carlton Morris, Joao Pedro, Douglas Luiz – 4

Six players are tied on four penalties scored this season, including Premier League Golden Boot leader Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has not been quite as prolific as his record-breaking debut campaign at Manchester City but jointly tops the divisions for goals despite missing an extended period through injury.

Brighton forward Joao Pedro has compiled a remarkable record from the spot since signing for the Seagulls last summer.

The Brazil international has scored 10 penalties in all competitions this season, with a further four in the Europa League and two in the FA Cup. Pedro is perfect from the penalty spot in his career to date, with a 100% record from 13 penalties taken.

=2. Mohamed Salah – 5

Mohamed Salah has scored five spot-kicks for Liverpool in the Premier League this season, the joint-second-highest figure in the division.

The Egyptian continues to produce consistent numbers in front of goal and has reached 15+ goals in the Premier League for the seventh straight season in a Liverpool shirt. The 31-year-old is three adrift in the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot, as he looks to equal Thierry Henry’s record of four awards.

He could have been closer, had it not been for missed penalties against Bournemouth and Newcastle earlier in the campaign. It’s 5/7 from the spot for Salah this season.

=2. Bukayo Saka – 5

Arsenal have shared spot-kicks around this season with Martin Odegaard, Fabio Vieira, Jorginho and Kai Havertz having each converted penalties in all competitions in 2023/24, though it’s Bukayo Saka cemented as the club’s first-choice taker.

He has a perfect 5/5 record in the Premier League this season, including one in September’s North London derby draw with Tottenham.

1. Cole Palmer – 9

Cole Palmer is out in front for penalties scored in the Premier League this season with the Chelsea star having converted nine spot-kicks.

Palmer’s haul is just one less than the next two highest-placed players combined, and Chelsea have been awarded the highest number of penalties in the Premier League with 12.

Enzo Fernandez missed the club’s first penalty of the campaign against West Ham in August, though made amends with an effort from the spot against Brighton in early December.

When present, Palmer has been the designated taker since opening his account for Chelsea from the spot against Burnley in October.

The 21-year-old later held his nerve to score in stoppage-time to cap a chaotic 4-4 draw with former side Manchester City and also scored twice from the spot as part of a hat-trick against Manchester United.

Palmer has not missed a penalty in his senior career to date (9/9), and that will offer Gareth Southgate and England encouragement ahead of Euro 2024.
