Club América opened their 2021 Apertura campaign with a 0-0 draw against Querétaro at the Estadio Corregidora on Thursday evening.

It was a very nervy affair between Querétaro and Club América for the first official match of the 2021 Apertura season.

Neither side could find a breakthrough during the first 45 minutes with possession split down the middle and attempts falling short at either side of the pitch.

By half-time, América held a slim upper hand in attempts on goal with six shots compared to Querétaro’s two but only had one on target.

After the break, Santiago Solari’s side ramped up their efforts to break the deadlock with another 10 attempts but all of them went wasted.

Time continued to tick away and both sides ended up sharing the points at the end of the night after a 0-0 result.
