Carlo Ancelotti sends message to Arda Güler over lack of Real Madrid playing time | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has this evening sent a public message to youngster Arda Güler, over his place in his squad.

As much, of course, comes amid ongoing frustration on the part of the Turkish starlet, regarding his lack of playing time in Spain’s capital.

Midfielder Güler, for his part, has to date been afforded just five appearances in the colours of Real, since his arrival from Fenerbahce last summer.

The 18-year-old did sit out a considerable chunk of the campaign owing to injury, but, even since his return at the beginning of the year, boss Carlo Ancelotti has continued to make clear that he does not yet trust Güler to fulfill an important role in his squad.

Speaking to the media ahead of Los Blancos’ return to action on Sunday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his midfield starlet’s situation was put to Ancelotti once more.

And the Italian tactician, for the umpteenth time, called for patience, adamant that Güler will soon prove why he is considered ‘good enough to start’ in Madrid:

“It’s just a question of competition with the others. I have to choose the 11 to play and sometimes, often due to injuries, it has been harder for him to get into the team. He’s very young, he has to be patient, but he’s good enough to play and to start games.”
