Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti this evening hinted that youngster Arda Güler could have a role to play in his side’s upcoming showdown with Borussia Dortmund.
The name of midfielder Güler has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Spain once more late on Sunday.
This comes after the Turk was responsible for another stellar individual display.
Afforded his latest starting berth by boss Ancelotti, Güler responded with a brace, en route to an eventual 4-4 La Liga stalemate with Villarreal.
This means that the summer arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu has now notched four goals in his last three appearances, and six in just over 370 minutes of league action this season.
And such remarkable exploits, it would appear, could yet prove enough for Güler to carve out a role for himself in the upcoming Champions League final.
Speaking in his post-match press conference on Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti was drawn on the latest endeavours of not only his midfield gem, but the in-form Brahim Díaz and Joselu, too.
And Real’s headmaster went on to confirm that any of the three could well be afforded game-time against Borussia Dortmund, a development which would see Güler make his Champions League debut on the grandest stage of them all.
“I’m counting on Güler, Joselu and Brahim for the Champions League final,” Ancelotti announced.
