Green has agreed a one-year deal, with a year’s option, after the 24-year-old featured in all 22 of the Red and Green’s BWC fixtures last season, including a 97th minute winner on the final day to secure their status in the second tier.

Green told BluesTV how excited she is to be returning: “It doesn’t feel like I left. I’m happy to be back and I can’t wait to get started.

“I’ve got experience at both ends of the table, so I’m hoping that i can bring that quality with and help the team here.”

During her first spell in royal blue, Green made 23 appearances in all competitions having joined from Manchester United, where she won the Women’s Championship in 2018/19.

The midfielder also lists Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton amongst her former clubs, as well as having spent a season on loan at Sheffield United.

Thomas also put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal, with a year’s option, the highly-rated shot stopper keeping seven clean sheets last season for a side struggling to stay up.

Thomas told BCFC.com of her delight at securing the move: “It’s exciting to be here. The club has really big ambitions this season and they align with mine so I’m excited to get going.

“I want to be the best keeper I can be and the best keeper in this league so that’s why Blues was the place for me.”

Thomas has also spent time at London City Lionesses, while as a youth player she was on the books of Arsenal before moving FA Women’s National League side Oxford United.
