After Celtic's shock exit to Kazakh side Kairat, a worse night for a Scottish side in Europe this week felt unlikely.
That was until Rangers kicked off away to Club Brugge.
Needing a good start after their shambolic 3-1 loss at Ibrox last week (in which they conceded all three goals in the opening 15 minutes), they somehow near-topped it tonight, with Nicolò Tresoldi scoring after five minutes before Max Aarons was sent off shortly after.
They held out past the half-hour mark, but then again topped last week, letting in four in 15 minutes, including three between the 41st minute and the half-time whistle.
It could get even worse with another 45 minutes to go, and it's safe to say Russell Martin's reign could be a very short one with the first Old Firm game of the season at the weekend.
