La Liga giants Barcelona have seen their efforts to add a new name to the club’s youth ranks fall short.

This comes amid confirmation that Rayan Bardghji has opted to take his talents to Danish outfit Nordsjælland.

Bardghji, for his part, is the brother of recent Barcelona signing Roony.

As part of the agreement which ultimately brought the latter to Catalunya’s capital this month, Deco and co. also attempted to 15-year-old winger Rayan.

Some outlets, in fact, went as far as to suggest that the latter’s Blaugrana switch was all but assured.

In turn, it may come as something of a surprise, this week, to hear of Bardghji opting to head elsewhere.

As confirmed in a statement across the website and social media platforms of Danish side Nordsjælland:

‘FC Nordsjælland has made an agreement with 15-year-old Rayan Bardghji, who most recently played for FC Copenhagen.

‘Rayan Bardghji has signed a three-year deal with FC Nordsjælland and will start as part of the U19 squad.’
