Brentford forward Yoane Wissa has departed the club’s pre-season training camp in Portugal to return to London, with his future increasingly uncertain.
According to BBC Sport, the 28-year-old will hold talks with Brentford’s director of football, Phil Giles. Tottenham, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest are all showing strong interest in the DR Congo international, with European football on offer from each.
Wissa is reportedly unsettled by recent speculation. While Brentford hoped to offer him a new contract, he prefers a move away. With just 12 months left on his deal—plus an option to extend—and having scored 19 goals in 35 league matches last season, he could command a fee of around £40 million.
The potential departure comes shortly after Bryan Mbeumo’s £65m move to Manchester United, leaving Brentford facing the prospect of losing both key forwards this summer.
