Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini isn't ready to declare themselves title contenders after victory over Napoli.

It was the fifth consecutive Serie A victory for La Dea and takes them closer to the top of the table.

"Juventus and Napoli were two very different games," Gasperini told Sky Italia.

“They are two great teams, I must say that considering the way it went, tonight was even more exciting, as we were losing and then turned it around again."

He continued: "Let's think about the Champions League instead, as there is a decisive in or out match coming up. There's a long way to go in Serie A.

“As for the Scudetto, I know people talk like this, but the reality is we have never been top of the table. Never. So the day we get there, then I will say we can challenge for the Scudetto.

“Inter have been top, Napoli top, Milan top, the most we did was second a few rounds last season, but we never got to the top. So how can a team challenge for the title if it has never been the leader?

“We're not pulling back from it or anything, but it's just a fact. We're four points off the top and that's quite a lot, with teams like this in front of us."
