Alvaro Morata has once again opened up speculation on his future at Atletico Madrid and Spain.

The 32-year-old was reportedly considering an exit for the third summer in a row, but again has opted to stay in Madrid.

Morata indicated previously he would move on from the Spanish capital if he was not considered as a first team regular next season with his contract running until 2027.

However, as part of an interview with Cadena COPE, Morata hinted he is assessing his options.

“In football, nothing is certain. I want to stay but there are times when it’s complicated for me in Spain with a lot of criticism.”

Morata also addressed questions over his potential international retirement after Euro 2024.

“I want this to end in the best way possible as it could be my last tournament with the national team.

“It’s likely I will leave after the Euros. But it’s a possibility, I do not want to talk much about.”

Morata’s 36 goals put him fourth on all time Spain goal scorer list and he will be hoping to close the two goal gap on Fernando Torres in the coming week.
