Most Popular Sports on Bwin
There is a great betting action available at Bwin Sportsbook in Ontario to choose from, with each having a deep selection of markets available. In the sections to follow, we’ll detail all you can expect from the most popular Bwin sports.
Hockey Betting at Bwin
Bwin may be a European brand, but it is well aware that hockey is king in Canada. You have access to all of the most popular NHL bets, from picking your pre-season Stanley Cup and MVP candidates to having every game available to bet on throughout the season.
The action doesn’t stop with the NHL, though. There’s college hockey too, plus games from all of the leading international leagues such as Germany, Finland and Sweden. There’s international hockey as well, with competitions such as the World Championships and Olympics covered in depth. This all adds up to an unparalleled hockey betting experience.
Football Betting at Bwin
Few sports match the excitement and intensity of football, and at Bwin you can go along for the ride by backing any of the huge choice of markets that are available on each game. This can mean picking a moneyline or spread winner, or betting on the points totals.
There is also a massive range of prop bets available too, letting you bet on how star players will perform and what stats each team will put up.
It’s worth noting that when we used Bwin, we only found NFL and college football markets available. Despite the CFL being in-season, it wasn’t listed on the sportsbook.
Basketball Betting at Bwin
There is a vast catalogue of hoops action available at Bwin, ensuring that you’ll be able to find the markets you like to bet on the sport. The high-scoring nature of the game makes betting on basketball especially popular, and the choices here will let you wager on game totals, half totals, and player totals. This is on top of all the other action you can expect, such as spreads, moneylines and props.
The NBA is the centrepiece of Bwin’s basketball markets, but there is far more available than just that. The WNBA is skyrocketing in popularity, and this is reflected in how many markets are available for every game. Plus, there’s international action from leading leagues around the world, too.
Baseball Betting at Bwin
If you like to take a stats-based approach to your betting, then chances are you like betting on baseball. The good news is that, when you bet at Bwin, you’ll get a quick stat breakdown for every MLB game, letting you quickly see the form guide for each team heading into the game to help inform your bets.
Every MLB game is available at Bwin, from opening day right through to the World Series. The action doesn’t stop there, either, as top international leagues such as Japan’s NPB and South Korea’s KBO have an equally deep betting selection.
Soccer Betting at Bwin
Bwin is a European brand, and with soccer being the most popular sport on the continent, you can expect a fantastic selection of games and markets available. We found there to be hundreds of games when we reviewed the site, with even the most obscure leagues still having a huge choice of markets and same game parlay builders available.
Of course, the biggest competitions are the best represented, and you’ll find them all at Bwin. This includes top leagues such as the Premier League, La Liga, MLS, and the Bundesliga, along with continental competitions like the Champions League and Europa League.
There is also every stage of international competitions available to bet on, such as the World Cup, Copa América, and European Championship.
Tennis Betting at Bwin
Tennis makes up the heart of Bwin’s live betting selection. Every game is available for live betting, where you can back everything from who’ll come out victorious and win the match down to the result of the next set, game, or even point.
Best of all, a lot of the non-televised action is live-streamed on Bwin, allowing you to bet while watching even if the game isn’t being traditionally broadcast.
You can, of course, still bet on tennis in the traditional pre-match way on a host of markets. There’s always plenty to choose from as well, as Bwin carries the ATP, WTA, Challenger and ITF tours, ensuring there are almost always games going on. This is all on top of the annual Grand Slam tournaments that can define seasons and careers.
College Sports Betting at Bwin
All the college sports you could want are available at Bwin, including a full slate of college football from the first game through Bowl season and the National Championship.
College basketball is also available from tip-off to March Madness. Hockey fans can also rejoice as college hockey is available at Bwin, something we haven’t seen at many other sportsbooks in the province.
There are a few restrictions on college sports at Bwin, the same as at any other licensed Ontario sportsbook. Unfortunately, Canadian U Sports are unavailable, and there are restrictions on what prop bets can be placed on collegiate games. With such a strong college sports catalogue, though, we don’t see this being an issue in finding some great action.
Bwin Betting Partnerships
Although Bwin doesn’t have any active sponsorships in Canada, its global brand is certainly well represented in the sporting world. The brand is best known for its football sponsorships, with Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, and Juventus all being former Bwin partners. The site has also sponsored the Champions League and Europa League before, along with having heavy involvement in sponsoring MotoGP races.
Bwin is also not afraid to look for opportunities outside of sports. The brand famously lent its VIP poker villa to Lady Gaga for the Poker Face music video, with Bwin-branded poker equipment being prominently featured.
Bwin Sportsbook Bet Types
There are a number of different ways you can bet on the Bwin sports selection. Here, we’ll give you the run-down on some of the most popular kinda of bets you can place, as well as letting you know which sports are the most popular to place them on.
Live Betting
While traditional betting has you place your wagers before an event begins, live betting allows you to place bets after the action has started. The markets and odds are updated regularly in real-time to reflect the action as it unfolds, enabling you to watch the game and place bets based on your own analysis.
Even if you can’t watch along, Bwin provides a fantastic live betting stat breakdown and visualizer to ensure you get a good overview of what’s happening. For some events, you’re even able to watch live streams of the action directly on the Bwin site.
Live betting is massively popular across all sports, but tennis, cricket and basketball are among the favourites.
Match Props
These kinds of bets are for milestones which happen during the game, rather than the final result itself. In soccer, for example, this could mean the number of corner kicks, throw-ins, or cards shown, while in football it can be sacks, touchdowns or yards. Every sport will have its own stat markets, which lend themselves to match prop betting.
Whichever markets you choose, the basics remain the same. You’ll be given an under/over line, and will need to decide if the final result will be more or less. If the line for corner kicks in a soccer game is 10.5, you’d need to bet the over if you predict 11 or more, or the under if you expect 10 or fewer.
Moneylines
Moneyline bets are the simplest way to bet on sports, and are a wager on which player or team you think will win. There are no modifiers such as point spreads on these kinds of bets; this is simply a bet on who will come out on top.
Although moneyline bets are easy to understand and great if you’re building a parlay, they do have some drawbacks. The biggest one is that they offer poor value if there’s a heavy favourite in a game. If you’ve got a championship contender going up against an especially poor team, it isn’t uncommon to see moneylines of -500 or greater.
Multi Bets
It’s possible to combine multiple bets, known as legs, into larger wagers. These are known as multi bets. The most common kind of multi bet is a parlay, where you add different legs into a single bet. The odds of each leg are combined, giving the potential for huge returns; however, the added risk is that every leg has to hit in order for the bet to win.
Parlays are not the only kind of multi bets available at Bwin, though. If you look at your bet slip, you’ll see the ‘Round Robins’ tab. When you’ve added your legs to your bet slip, you can click there and see what other multi bets you can place. These can include complex bets such as Yankees, Luck 31s, and Canadians, along with Round Robins, where you only need to get a certain number of your legs right in order to win.
Outrights
When we talk about betting on outrights, we’re referring to betting on which team or player will end the season as a champion. With the NFL, the outright bets you can make are on which team will win the Super Bowl, as well as who’ll be the AFC and NFC champions. You can also bet on each of the division winners.
The markets don’t stop with which teams will finish the season with a trophy. You can also bet on individual player awards such as the MVP, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, or Comeback Player of the Year.
Player Props
If you’re looking to bet on how a player will perform during a game, then these player prop markets are the ones that you’re after. These are especially popular in sports like football or basketball, where individual players can make a huge difference. With basketball, you’ll find popular props such as points, assists, rebounds and fouls widely backed.
A lot of bettors use these bets to back star players, but that’s far from the only way you can wager with them. It can be equally profitable to back a lesser-known player, such as a wide receiver who is usually low on the depth chart but is getting more game time. They’ll usually have much lower lines, meaning that they can hit their mark more easily if they get the targets.
Spread Betting
A spread bet is one of the most commonly placed wagers in Canada, and you’ll see it offered on almost every game. With these, the favourite is given a points handicap and the underdog an equal points boost.
For instance, let’s say the Buffalo Bills are -6.5 point favourites against the +6.5 point New York Jets. For a spread bet on the Bills to hit, they’d need to win the game by 7 points or more. The Jets, meanwhile, would need to either win the game outright or lose by 6 points or fewer for a bet on them to win.
The idea of betting like this is that it eliminates the poor value you often see with moneyline bets, as the spread is always around +100 for both sides.
Totals
A totals bet is one on the combined number of points scored during a game. This can be either the game total, where the points from both teams are added together, or individual totals for each side.
You don’t have to bet on just the final points totals, either. You can bet by period/quarter or half as well, or take player prop bets into consideration and bet on how many points a single player will put up.
How to Sign Up on Bwin in Canada
It’s quick and easy to sign up at Bwin. You’ll only need to complete a few steps before getting full acces to the site, along with one of the top mobile betting apps in the province. You can follow our quick guide below to get started, but remember, only players located and residing in Ontario are currently eligible to create an account.
Step 1: Select the Bwin Banner on This Page
Click on any of the Bwin promo modules on this page to be taken to the Bwin Ontario site. This ensures you’re going directly to the correct Canadian edition of Bwin, rather than risking winding up on their general English-language page.
Step 2: Click to Register
Once you’re on the site, you can click on the large yellow ‘Register’ button that’s up in the top right corner of the screen. This will launch the sign-up form. You can start creating your account by filling in your email address and selecting your password.
Step 3: Enter Your Personal Details
The second page of the Bwin sign-up form is where you enter your personal details. It’s vitally important that you make sure you enter your information as it appears on your government ID and bank account, as this will be used to verify your identity during your Know Your Customer (KYC) check.
Step 4: Accept the Bwin Terms & Conditions
The third page of the sign-up form allows you to enter your address and mobile number, and also provides an opportunity to review and agree to the terms and conditions. We found nothing unusual in them, but we still recommend reading them for yourself before agreeing so you can understand the site rules.
Step 5: Fill in Optional Info and Start Playing
After your account has been created, you’ll be given the chance to fill in some optional information and complete your KYC check. You should do this immediately, as it can prevent issues further down the line.
We also highly recommend setting up your responsible gambling limits now, too. With those things done, there’s nothing left but to make a deposit and start playing.

Bwin App
The Bwin app is a perfect companion to the desktop site, letting you do everything you’d be able to do on a computer while on the go. This includes making deposits and withdrawals, placing bets, and even watching event streams from the live betting centre.
The only real difference between the Bwin app and desktop site is that the app is optimized for a smaller screen. This means that information is displayed more concisely, and design features such as dropdown menus and collapsible menu bars are used more than on the desktop site. All the same deep selection of markets is still there, though.
It’s worth keeping in mind that, although the app is perfect for playing while going about your day, you’ll still need to be located within Ontario to use it. If you travel out of the province, you won’t be able to use the Bwin app until you’re back.
How to Download the Bwin iOS App
It’s quick and easy to find the Bwin app download and get it set up on your Apple device. The first step is to head over to the App Store. There, search for ‘Bwin Ontario Sports Betting’. This should give you a top result of the Bwin Ontario app, which is specially designed for use in the province.
Click on the app, then hit ‘Get’ to start the download. Once it’s completed, you can tap on the app to launch it and log in using the same credentials as you use on the desktop site. With that done, you’re ready to play on the Bwin app.
How to Download the Bwin Android App
To get the Bwin app set up on your Android device, the first thing you’ll need to do is launch the Google Play Store. Here, you can search for ‘Bwin Ontario Sports Betting’ to find the app. It’s important you make sure you select the Bwin app that’s designed for use in Ontario, since that’s the version that’ll work with your account details.
Once you’ve found the app, hit ‘Install’ and wait for it to set up. With that done, you can launch the app and log in using the same details you use for the desktop site.
Bwin Desktop and Mobile Web Version
Both the Bwin app and desktop site are fantastic, so which one you want to use really comes down to personal preference. For instance, the app is great for relaxing on the couch and checking the lines while watching a game, or keeping up with how your bets are doing while you’re out and about.
We found the desktop site to be slightly better when you need to process a lot of information. Setting up a slate of bets for a busy NFL Sunday, for example, was easier for us on desktop. Ultimately, though, both work well, and so we recommend using whichever is more convenient for you.
Bwin App Ratings - iOS and Android Reviews
It’s always good to read the reviews of sports betting apps from other players to see what life is like using them day-to-day. Whenever you do, it’s important to make sure to be slightly skeptical of overly negative reviews. Some players who are unhappy with their gaming outcomes, or who’ve misunderstood a site’s terms and conditions, take to these review pages to vent their frustrations.
App Store Reviews
The Bwin Ontario app is generally well-received on the App Store, holding a 4.4 rating out of 128 reviews. It’s good to see that, when there are complaints, the Bwin dev team are on hand and active in the comments to offer advice to players unhappy with how things are going.
App Store Positives | App Store Negatives |
Easy deposits | Players believe Bwin to be a scam |
Loads quickly | Players are unhappy with withdrawal times |
Better than desktop | There are reports of bets being limited |
Google Play Reviews
The Bwin Ontario app has over 1,000 downloads on Android, but so far no users have left a review. This, surprisingly, can be seen as a good thing for how the app has been received. Most users only leave reviews when they’re unhappy with their outcomes, or haven’t correctly understood the site’s terms and conditions. The fact that players aren’t doing this indicates that overall, they’re happy with the Bwin Ontario app on Android.
Customer Support Options
One of the slight points against Bwin is that customer support can be hard to find if you don’t know where to look. There is no obvious button or icon that launches the customer support hub, and we found that after signing in, even the help section link disappeared. Thankfully, we can tell you exactly where to get in touch with customer support should you need it.
At the bottom of the page, head to the ‘Help and Contact’ link. From here, you can click on any article, and if you respond to whether it solved your issue with ‘No’, then you’ll find links to contact customer support. You can either reach out via instant messaging or email them using the web form provided.
Responsible Gambling on Bwin
One of the main reasons that Ontario legalized and regulated online gambling was to ensure responsible play, and Bwin certainly upholds its duty. You’re able to quickly and easily set up limits on your Bwin account to control how much you deposit or lose on the site. You can also help control the time you spend playing by setting reality checks at set intervals, either daily, weekly or monthly.
There is also a good self-assessment test you can take at Bwin to help you examine your relationship with gambling, and if you want to take a break, the site makes it easy. You can take a time out from one day to up to three months, at which point your account will automatically unlock. Alternatively, if you want to stop playing altogether, you can self-exclude for up to five years. After a self-exclusion period, you’ll need to request that your account be reactivated, which will only be done if your relationship with gambling has improved.
Sign Up at Bwin in Ontario Now!
