Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly gunning for a reunion with Jadon Sancho at Besiktas.
The Norwegian remains one of the most popular figures at Old Trafford, mostly thanks to his unforgettable late winner in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich in 1999. The 52-year-old also had a three-year managerial tenure at Carrington, but it proved less memorable than his playing stint, as it ended in an unceremonious sack in November 2021.
In January, Solskjaer resumed his managerial career by taking over Besiktas. The Istanbul-based giants are one of the main powerhouses in Turkish football, but they have been lagging behind their rivals Galatasaray and Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
Therefore, the Norwegian’s mission is to bring the Eagles back to title contention, and he’s hoping to do so by bolstering his ranks with renowned talent.
According to Turkish journalist Ersin Albayrak (via Kartal Record), Besiktas have enquired about Sancho’s availability.
The English winger has been on Man Utd’s books since the summer of 2021, when he made the move from Borussia Dortmund while Solskjaer was in charge.
The 25-year-old endured two and a half underwhelming years marred by unsavoury off-the-pitch incidents, before spending the last 18 months on loan between BVB and Chelsea where produced ‘amazing’ displays at first before being reduced to a mere backup.
Sancho still has one year left on his United contract, but Ruben Amorim has no desire to keep him, so he and his fellow outcasts have asked to leave the club.

Nevertheless, Besiktas might struggle to land Sancho, as Juventus are offering him a more prestigious destination. The Serie A giants have also been making significant progress on this track, even though they have yet to find a definitive agreement with United or with Sancho’s representatives.
According to TuttoJuve, the Bianconeri are done pondering and are now ready to translate their interest in the player to concrete action.
The source claims that Juventus are ready to present INEOS with an offer worth £21.5 million, which might prove sufficient to seal the deal. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Sancho would be willing to accept a pay cut to facilitate the transfer.
