Jadon Sancho appears to be racing towards the exit door at Old Trafford as his potential suitor reportedly makes him their transfer priority.

This new update is sure to be a welcome development for both Manchester United and Sancho alike, potentially bringing an end to what has been a turbulent relationship, to say the least.

How to solve a problem like Sancho

Since the arrival of manager Ruben Amorim at Man United last season, Sancho’s career at Old Trafford has appeared to be all but over. The player was shipped out on loan to Chelsea soon after Amorim took charge, bringing some hope to his situation, although things didn’t turn out as planned.

Rather than fulfil their £25 million obligation to purchase Sancho following his loan, Chelsea opted to pay the agreed £5 million penalty to break the agreement, exhibiting their dissatisfaction with the player.

While clearly a blow to United’s hopes of offloading Sancho, this development seems to have been a disappointment for the winger as well.

Last week, The Peoples Person relayed that Sancho is among five players who have submitted transfer requests to United, signalling that the feeling is mutual.

Fortunately, it appears that United will be able to overcome the Chelsea setback fairly quickly.

Interest mounts

Several clubs have allegedly indicated their interest in Sancho since, including Besiktas, which is managed by former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

By far, the most significant potential suitor, however, is Juventus.

Not only have the Serie A giants signalled their concrete interest in Sancho, but they’ve even reportedly agreed to send Douglas Luiz to Old Trafford in a swap deal.

Yesterday, the most significant development in the transfer saga to date came through when it was reported that United and Juventus agreed to a £25 million deal for Sancho.

This morning, further details on the proposed deal were divulged.

Sancho is a transfer priority

Corriere dello Sport reported this morning that Juventus and United are settling all of the conditions of their deal. “Juventus is literally intoxicated by Jadon Sancho,” the report read, indicating how Juventus view him as a priority signing.

“Juventus has a basic agreement with the Red Devils for €25 million plus bonuses and is finalising the deal with the youngster, which started with an asking price of €8 million net per season (now earning €10 million),” the report read.

“Ultimately, he should settle for €6.5 million plus bonuses,” it continued, suggesting that Sancho is willing to make financial compromises in order to get the deal over the line.

While it appears that Sancho’s deal is advancing smoothly, there was no mention of a Douglas Luiz swap, perhaps indicating that Sancho’s transfer does not depend on Luiz.

Either way, this is a positive sign for United, who are looking to offload Sancho and secure additional transfer funds.
