Inter Milan and Newell’s Old Boys have sealed an agreement worth €9 million for teenage midfielder Tomas Perez.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Perez will remain at Newell’s on loan until June.
Inter have been looking to add to their growing youth team.
The Nerazzurri are planning to set up an Under-23 team starting next season.
Therefore, Inter are increasingly in the market for players with room to grow. Nerazzurri owners Oaktree Capital have made clear that they are willing to invest if it is in youth.
Inter have been in negotiations with Newell’s Old Boys for defender Tomas Perez.
The 19-year-old wouldn’t be the first youngster the Nerazzurri have signed from Argentina under the ownership of Oaktree.
Last summer, Inter signed defender Tomas Palacios. They are hoping that he can have a similar trajectory to Yann Bisseck.
And now the Nerazzurri are on the cusp of making it two transfer windows in a row in which they sign a young player from Argentina.
Inter have been negotiating with Newell’s Old Boys for teenage midfielder Perez.
And according to the Gazzetta, the two clubs have reached an agreement.
Inter will pay Newell’s a fee of €7 million up front. In addition, there will be €2 million in add-ons.
The Nerazzurri will sign Perez during the January transfer window. However, they will loan him back to Newell’s for six months.
